Boys Only Trip to the Temple

Hey this is Jason.  So the boys and I got to have a special day today.  I took a half day off from work and we were able to go down to the new Payson LDS Temple.  Just me and the boys and it was a fun time.  If you don't know, LDS temples are special places in our religion where members of the LDS church who are living in accordance with the teachings of the church may go to perform special ordinances.  These are essentially very sacred promises made with the Lord.  After a temple is built and before it is dedicated as a Holy place, it is opened to the general public to walk through and see the inside. The boys loved it.

We watched a video describing temples and what happens inside.  Then walked through the temples many rooms for baptisms, waiting areas, sealings (marriages), and other rooms.  The coolest one is the Celestial room which is also the most sacred room we have in the temple that most people get to go in to.  Seth mentioned how white and beautiful the room was and mentioned all the crystals in the chandeliers.  It was super cute.  Throughout the tour I would set the boys down and discuss the importance and significance of each of the rooms, on there level of course, and they would ask any questions that they had.  It's quite interesting to hear what they are thinking.

After going through we were able to take pictures inside a tent with large images of the temple.  Unfortunately it was raining outside so we weren't able to get actual pictures.  The boys and I ran to the van and went to Dairy Queen and ate some Ice Cream. They loved it.  What a great day.  And after that I asked if they wanted to go to the mall or go to a slide or something and they said that they wanted to go home so they could spend some time with Mommy and their sister.  Granted, they were thinking of watching Mommy play wii, or play on a phone, or something like that, but it was still nice that they wanted to spend time with them.

It really was a great afternoon.  I love when I get to spend time with my kids.  They are wonderful, smart, and kind...  It doesn't get much better than that.
