Fun FHE

We had a Family Home Evening with our amazing friends. We roasted marshmallows and starbursts and played in the backyard. It was so perfect and fun. I related it to the way Lehi and Nephi did their cooking as they wandered through the desert. If I had been more on top of things, we would have "hunted" for our food first and a few things like that, but we had fun either way.

Seth enjoyed his s'more, in case you couldn't tell by the picture below.

Our newest addition, little S from foster care, thought Jason needed a pat on the back. This perfectly shaped little hand print made me laugh. Adorable!
Some neighbors were playing in the wildlife preserve area behind our house, so they saw us as we were playing in the backyard. We all joined them in the preserve, and the kids loved running around with all the neighbor kids.
As always, Kai's independent soul rebelled against the group, and he set off on his own. He loves playing his own thing within sight of everyone else.
It's so fascinating to me how different all three of the children in our home are from each other. They have their own gifts and abilities, and it's amazing to watch them grow and learn in such different ways from one another. Kai loves everyone just as much as social Seth, but he shows it in such different ways. I love it. This is one of my favorite parts of parenting.

  1. Those pictures turned out awesomely! That was a super fun night and I really enjoyed how the kids jumped in and weren't afraid of the fire or the smoke or to try some new foods. They were highly responsible around the fire but at the same time they didnt fear it. Made me a proud papa!
