The other things we do.

There are about a million things that haven't fit into other blog posts, so I'll post them in one glob of a post here.

The garden is amazing. We had our first harvest!
Kai loves tomatoes (as do I,) so he got the very first tomato from the vine.
I love just sitting in the garden and smelling the plants. Fruit and veggie plants just smell different than other plants.
We have many things coming in right now, including zuccini, pumpkins, carrots, hot anaheim peppers, green peppers, red peppers, green beans, peas, radishes, cantaloupe, etc. We are hoping for watermelon also, but that one is still iffy whereas the rest of the plants are sure to give us something. We've gotten a lot of tomatoes since this first one was picked a few days ago, and we are about ready for our first zuccini and anaheims.

We also got a new swing set! It took days to put together, but it was totally worth it. The kids LOVE their new playground.
We got a really good deal too. It came with a baby swing (which you can see pictured above with cute little S in it,) a climbing dome, and a kiddie picnic table.

I'm glad this is a hit with them, because it was crazy hard to get it here and put together.

We did a ton today! We started by taking apart the big wooden crate that the swing set came in, and it was HUGE. We cut it up for firewood for our fire pit. We then cleaned out and swept the garage, mowed the front lawn and most of the back lawn, pulled a lot of weeds, planted some lilies, moved a lot of compost, had a friend over for the boys, found a friend that could use the rest of the compost we have for their community garden they are building, read books to the kids and played with them, etc. It was a great day. I love feeling like we got so much done!
