Halfway there

I apologize for missing a couple days on here. By tonight, I will be more than halfway done with the book I am proofreading! When the book is done, I will become more consistent with my posts. I start another book on Monday though and will be MIA again.

Tuesday I cut the boys' hair. They hate it, but they get to pick a show to
watch, and they get a treat when they're done, so they put up with it.
(They rarely get an extra show during the day or an extra treat.)

That evening, Jason and I coached Seth's soccer practice because his coach
couldn't be there. It was a blast! Those 4-year-olds are super cute!

This time of year, it is almost impossible to keep the flies out of our house
because of the wildlife preservation area right off our backyard. The boys came
up with a creative way to keep the flies away from their lunch on Wednesday.

Seth passed off a book in one day at school on Wednesday. I'm so proud of him. He's just so smart, and he reads every word he can, even while we are driving down the street. He also had a friend over Wednesday afternoon which was so pleasant. The little boy that came over was just so mild-mannered like Seth, so between the two of them entertaining each other, it was a quiet afternoon!

Today we went to lunch and got ice cream afterward. They loved it! Seth got chocolate (like always!) and Kai got blue and white sprinkles. Of course, this led us to chant "B-Y-U! B-Y-U!" When we do this in front of grandpa, he rolls his eyes. He is definitely a University of Wyoming Cowboys fan! When Seth was 2 years old and was spending the weekend with his grandparents, a UW football game came on the TV. Seth started to chant "B-Y-U!" Grandpa corrected him: "That's not BYU! They're the Cowboys!" Seth, being a very confident 2-year-old, quickly said, "Grandpa, those aren't cowboys! They're football players!" I guess grandma really loved watching grandpa get out-gunned by a 2-year-old. She still loves telling this story!

And we have an exciting bit of news! A few months ago, we went through foster care training. We are really trying to open as many doors as possible to bring kids into our home. We've been waiting on the home inspection. It's the last piece of the puzzle before we are fully ready to help foster children. (As a side note, we are only looking to take in kids 5 years old or younger.) Our licensor called today, and we finally have a date set to do the home inspection! Yay! By the end of October, we will have completed every step in the foster care process! :D

Anyway, that's what we've been up to. I'll post a few days from now. Hopefully the book will be done by then!
